Supporters gathered
to celebrate the opening of Grameen America’s Oakland, CA branch. In attendance
were Matt Lonner, Manager of Global Partnerships and Programs, Chevron,
Christine Carr, Community Development Finance Manager, Silicon Valley Bank, and
Stephen A. Vogel, CEO, Grameen America.
Mr. Vogel welcomed guests and discussed the critical role strategic partnerships play in our operations.
“We’re delighted to celebrate the opening of our first West Coast Grameen
America branch with our Bay Area friends and supporters,” stated Mr. Vogel
Grameen
America’s Oakland Branch Manager, Rashidull Alam, spoke of the demand for
Grameen America’s services in the East Bay and shared examples of some of the
new businesses that have been established. Our favorite—one Grameen
America borrower purchased an industrial vacuum to use and rent to other house cleaners in her neighborhood.
A special
thank you to Chevron for hosting the reception and for the continued support.
Grameen America is grateful to our valuable stakeholders who have been
instrumental in our Bay Area expansion.
